Annual Display

The 7th Wishaw Annual Display and Presentation of awards will take place this Friday, 12th May at Wishaw Academy School for a 7:00 start. Doors will open from 6:45.

Can we ask senior boys, and those boys taking part in the drill team to be there for 5:45 to allow setup and practice. All other boys should be there for 6:30.

We would ask all boys to be in attendance with full uniform. If you have any problems please let us know.

Thanksgiving Service

The Company Thanksgiving service will take place this coming Sunday, 14th May, at the church. All boys should meet for 9:50 at the church. The boys will be finished by approximately 11:15

Again, could we ask all boys to be in attendance in full uniform.

Friday 19th May and beyond

We will continue to meet for the next few weeks at the church in preparation for camp. No uniform will be required and activities will be focussed around the outdoors.

Can we ask that camp payments are made by next Friday 19th.

We will take a final decision on the Kilbryde Hike next Friday depending on numbers (mainly officer numbers are the issue this year).

Junior Section & Company Section Swimming Gala Wednesday 23/11/16

Junior Section

We had 4 boys attend the swimming practice and they have secured their place in the team but there were many more boys put their hands up and said they would like to take part in the competition.
We have 12 places available (2 * breast stroke and 2 * free-style ) in each year.
There is no cost for the event (for boys or spectators) although there is normally a programme sold on entry for a nominal fee to raise battalion funds.
Boys can wear a t-shirt and towel over their swimming kit to keep warm between races.
Lockers are £1 (refundable) – please share where possible.
The competition (for Junior Section age) is expected to finish no later than 8pm.
For events with a large number of entrants there will be two or more heats.
For events with a small number of entrants there may be no heats (straight to final)
The spectator area does get VERY hot.

PLEASE LET MR BARBOUR KNOWIF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR BOY TO PARTICIPATE.
Boys MUST be able to swim ONE BREADTH of the swimming pool unaided.
Junior section races are held in the shallow end.

Company Section

All boys who intimated they would like to swim in the gala should be at Wishaw Sports Centre for 7.00 for registration.

Any boy who wasn’t there on Friday night can still attend and can register with the rest. The gala should last no longer than 2 hours.

Founders Day Parade Sunday 30/10/16

Just reminder of the details for the founders day parade tomorrow

The Founders Day parade will take place on Sunday at Carluke (St John’s Church). Boys should meet at the church for 1:30 departure and we’ll travel to Carluke together.

If for whatever reason it is easier to travel direct to Carluke please let us know and we can let you know where to meet for 2pm march off.

Parents wishing to attend the parade and service will be welcome.

We’ll return to the church at approximately 4:30.

It is intended that the Anchor Boys are going to the Motherwell Civic Centre on Friday 2 December to see Peter Pan.

Further details will be given out tomorrow night.

Just a reminder that the Company Section are off tonight for the September Weekend but are on as normal next week (30th) in full uniform.

Dedication & Youth Service

Sunday 2 October at St Marks (10.15am) will be the 7th Wishaw BB dedication service. As happened last year it will be an ‘All Age’ service to which all the youth organisations, parents, friends and family are invited.

The Junior Section will meet for the new session this Thursday 25th August at St Marks. Enrolment from 7pm, followed by a games night. Finish 8.45 as usual.
